Everyone experiences dementia differently, but like most of us, dementia clients respond well to therapeutic touch. We all like to feel that we matter and that we are cared for. Infact it is crucial to our emotional, mental and physical wellbeing. The agitation that so often accompanies dementia is seen as a symptom of that disease, noted, but often overlooked. A simple 30 minute massage can have a profound effect on the wellbeing of someone living with dementia.
Dementia clients can still receive friendship. Dementia clients can still respond positively to being cared for. Dementia clients recognise caring touch.
